Karuna: Nutrition + Movement accepts the following insurance plans:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield*

  • Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare

  • Tufts Health Plan

  • United Healthcare

  • Cigna

  • Aetna

  • Neighborhood Health Plan

  • Fallon Community Health Plan

*BCBS plans from states other than MA may NOT be covered.  Please check with your member services representative (The contact number will be listed on your insurance card).

Please keep in mind that each insurance plan differs by employer and therefore your insurance company has a separate nutrition policy for each plan. We ask that ALL new patients call their member service number prior to the first appointment to confirm coverage for a nutrition consultation. This applies to all plans, even those who do not require referrals.

We recommend you have the following information prior to your appointment:

  • What is my co-pay per visit (a dietitian is often considered a specialist if your co-pay is tiered)?

  • How many visits will be covered per calendar year?

  • Is a referral, pre-authorization or pre-determination required?

  • Will the cost of an appointment be applied to a deductible?

When you schedule your appointment, we will help guide you through this process to ensure you receive accurate information from your insurance company.
