Naima Sullivan

Registered Dietitian & Culinary Instructor

Naima brings nearly a decade of experience helping individuals and families cook and eat healthfully to Karuna Nutrition + Movement. Working with children and adults, she brings a sense of curiosity, playfulness, and exploration to a process that can often be a source of stress and worry. Naima embraces a non-diet and weight neutral approach, focusing on whole-being health and the enjoyment of food. She provides hands-on experiences in the kitchen, which can be a great way for everyone, young and old, to explore and accept new foods, flavors, and ways of eating. Naima has a particular interest in feeding children, from breast or bottle feeding, to introducing solid foods, and setting the stage for nourishing and joyful family meals.

A former professional dancer, Naima holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University. She completed her Dietetic Internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She has delivered food and nutrition programming to diverse audiences across the lifespan in community based settings including Cornell University Cooperative Extension, Food Bank For New York City, and GMHC. In addition, she has presented at Integral Yoga Institute, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and Studio 26. Naima is also a Master Composter and loves to garden and explore ways to make her family kitchen more sustainable.
