  • Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance
  • Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (New York University)
  • Completed Dietetic Internship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital

Naima has nearly a decade of experience helping individuals and families cook and eat nutritious meals. Working with children and adults, she brings a sense of curiosity, playfulness, and exploration to a process that can often be a source of stress and worry.

Naima embraces a non-diet and weight-inclusive approach. She helps her clients move forward from disordered eating and harmful behavior patterns and towards self-compassion, enjoyment of food, and whole-being health.

In our Karuna cooking classes, Naima provides attendees with hands-on experiences in the kitchen, helping people of all ages to explore and accept new foods, flavors, and ways of eating. Naima has a particular interest in feeding children, from breast or bottle feeding to introducing solid foods. One of her passions is setting the stage for nourishing, joyful family meals.

Naima has delivered food and nutrition programming to diverse audiences across the lifespan in community-based settings including Cornell University Cooperative Extension, Food Bank For New York City, and GMHC. In addition, she has presented at Integral Yoga Institute, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and Studio 26.

Naima is also a master composter and loves to garden and explore ways to make her family kitchen more sustainable.
