Nutrition Office Assistant

Marissa Silver is the Nutrition Office Assistant and she strives to make the scheduling and intake process both easy and convenient for new and current patients of Karuna: Nutrition + Movement. Marissa works with each new patient to find a dietitian that aligns with his or her goals, needs and schedule.

Marissa is currently completing her Master’s Degree and the Coordinated Program in Dietetics at Framingham State University (FSU) to become a future Registered Dietitian. Marissa has a passion for helping others lead a balanced lifestyle and establish a healthy relationship with food and exercise to nurture both the body and mind.

This year, Marissa is completing her dietetic internship rotations at two Boston Public Schools, the YMCA of Central Massachusetts and Sturdy Memorial Hospital. In addition to her community and clinical experience, Marissa worked with the John C. Stalker Institute of Food and Nutrition at FSU to promote professional development opportunities for school nutrition teams throughout Massachusetts. She also served as the Nutrition Instructor for the North Attleboro Cooking Matters to provide nutrition education that accompanied weekly live cooking instruction.

Prior to pursuing a career in nutrition, Marissa worked as a digital marketing professional and worked with businesses of all sizes including national food and beverage brands like Green Giant, Yoplait and Keurig. She earned her BS in Marketing Communications: Advertising and Public Relations at Emerson College in Boston, MA.
